These simple steps will get you started with DiskSurveyor:
1. Drag-and-drop your hard disk's icon on top of the DiskSurveyor icon.
ハ
DiskSurveyor will launch and start scanning your disk.
___________________________________________________________________
2. The small pie chart in the upper right shows the percentage of used disk space.
ハ
In this example, the disk is 58% full.
___________________________________________________________________
3. To zoom down and see a more detailed view of what's in a folder, move the cursor on top of the folder and click the mouse button.
ハ
Now we can see what's taking up the most space inside the Help folder.
___________________________________________________________________
4. Click on the button in the upper left corner of the window -or- use the left arrow key on the keyboard to zoom back out. Each time you press it, it goes back up one level.
ハ
___________________________________________________________________
5. Now hold the Shift key down and click on a folder.
ハ
Now the actual Help folder appears.
(And we're in the Finder, with DiskSurveyor running in the background.)
___________________________________________________________________
6. Close the window and click anywhere on the DiskSurveyor window to make it active again.
We hope you liked this quick little tutorial. See the DiskSurveyor 2.0.1 ReadMe file to learn about all the other features in DiskSurveyor.
